The Museum Studies program at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa is an undergraduate certificate program that has a healthy arsenal of course offerings and is eager to grow in many areas across campus, including forging ties with many departments on campus and in the community. Museum Studies has been taught on campus since 1910 and has had lose, long-term relationships with several amazing museums in Iowa City, including our on-campus art museum (The Stanley Art Museum) and Natural History Museum.
We currently have an opening for a 1-year VAP in Museum Studies teaching 4/4 with the opportunity for renewal for up to 3 years total. Class load will focus on teaching Introduction to Museum Studies, as well as courses in exhibition planning, public education, and museum administration and management.
